What Causes Salt Stains on Commercial Carpets and How to Prevent Them

Winters are finally in and with it comes the mess of the snow dumped on the sidewalks or roadways that also brings salt stains that were used for melting of the snow. The whole winter is a challenge to remove these salt stains and also cleaning up of the moisture that increases the chances of a slip or fall injury. What Causes Salt Stains Rock salts along with other salts are used for the melting of ice, like sodium chloride, calcium carbonate, and magnesium carbonate. These salts are basic in nature as their pH generally falls between 7 to 11, hence they are not acidic in nature. They are usually used for the melting of the snow and ice during winters to clean away the sidewalks or pathways for vehicles and passengers to move.
